How does the Hoopla app work?
Hoopla is a digital media lending service powered by local libraries worldwide. Users sign up with an email address, password, and library card information, and Hoopla gives them access to their local library’s collection of digital titles. Users can then borrow a limited number of titles per month.
How many items can you borrow per month on Hoopla?
Is there a limit to how many items I can borrow? The check-out limit is 8 items per month. Once you log into your Hoopla account you will see a blue banner across the top with how many titles you have available to check out. This limit will reset at the beginning of each month.
How do I connect my hoopla to my Samsung Smart TV?
Go to hoopladigital.com/link in your web browser on your computer or mobile device. Log in to your hoopla account. If you don’t have a hoopla account already, you can sign up here, opens a new window using your library card. Enter the 4-digit code displayed on your TV screen and click Submit.
How do I download books on Hoopla?
Borrow a title by clicking on the title’s icon and clicking Borrow. Stream the item by pressing play or download it to your device to hear, read, or watch it without Wi-Fi. To download borrowed content, simply tap on the “Tap here to download” button on the title details page.
Can I get hoopla on my Samsung Smart TV?
From the home screen of your Android TV, go to the Play Store. In the Play Store, go to search and search for the hoopla or Kanopy apps. Find the app and click to install.
Is there a charge for using hoopla?
Hoopla Library Hoopla is a free public library in cities that sign up, it comes at a price to the libraries which adopt it. If a user borrows an item, libraries pay between $0.99 to $2.99 per title. The library system sets limits to the number of items a member can borrow each month.
How do I borrow books from Hoopla?
Use the Search bar to find titles or click Browse to browse through genres or browse categories. 2. Click or tap a title to see more information about it. Tap Borrow to view/read/listen to it now or tap the heart icon to add it to your Favorites list to borrow later.
Why does Hoopla have a limit?
Hoopla operates on a “pay for play” schedule, meaning the library pays a fee for each item borrowed. Because of this, it’s necessary to set monthly limits on borrowing.
Why can’t I download books on Hoopla?
Check your device for software updates. Delete any applications and/or files you’re no longer using. Power cycle your router. Uninstall the Hoopla app, reboot your device, and reinstall Hoopla.

Can I stream hoopla to my TV?
With hoopla installed on your Smart TV, you can browse and watch up to five titles each month. You can also view your loans, your borrowing history, and the number of remaining borrows you have for the month.
Can I get hoopla without a library card?
To sign up for hoopla, you will need a valid library card from a library that offers hoopla. These are available at your local library branch. Some libraries do assign a PIN for your account as well. This is needed for registration if your library requires one.
